"99/99 is not good "
please! by all means, this is not what I meant. It is a trade-off, it is
about time management, how you spend you time to improve your profile.
However, I do think 90/90 is enough for community hosp. GIVEN YOU ARE CLOSE
TO AVERAGE IN OTHER ASPECTS.
99/99 is definitely better than 90+/90+. On average, people who have 99/99
are more likely to be matched. That being said, on an individual level,
is a different issue. You can allocate your time to strive for a 99/99
instead of settle for a 90+/90+, or spend more time on OB, learning how
be a doctor, a good one in US. The choice is yours, think about it, what
more important to you and the PDs. All they care is whether you can get
the floor and deal with patients.
However, for university programs, from what I heard, they will not even
at people who do not have 99/99. That is because they can afford to do so.
There are plenty of young 99/99ers who are fluent in English, have good
skills, can talk the talk and walk the walk. If you can do that like some
the big cows in the board like Knockdown and acne, that is great and I am
really happy for you.
