: SL2 is intent to compete with Flash not asp.net.
Flash is already dead meat, we know that for sure. Now look at the
feature set of SL2: there are WPF-lite controls, 2-way databinding,
threading, LINQ, Generics etc, and it's cross platform. Coding a web
app would be like writing a WinForm app almost. On top of all, you
can run c# code w/ above features inside users' browser. In the past,
If M$ pulls it off, do people still like traditional asp.net apps
postback or AJAX to interact w/ users? I for one would wanna switch
to SL2. It will be huge, more than just a Flash-killer.
That being said, I expect there'll be glitches when it's finally
released. But it's definitely a step in the right direction.
