AL Studio opens year long during weekdays after school time and Saturdays, has approximately 50 long term students and some short term students. It's a home-based art studio at North Juanita neighborhood run by an Chinese artist, gives semi- private art classes to children age 4 to 16.

Students will learn the techniques used by classic artists, learn how to use pastel, watercolor, oils, pen , charcoal and create their own individual art work.

Special activities: Summer outdoor sketching, museum sketching, students' self presentation shows and art contests.

At AYA we are committed to
fostering the talent of artistic young people
in a stimulating, challenging, supportive environment.

WHO WE ARE

Aspiring Young Actors (AYA) was established in 1994 as an independent Drama School to provide training and professional opportunities for talented child actors. Today it is one of the foremost drama schools for young people in Auckland. Our students, aged between 10 and 20 years, are accepted from annual auditions held each January. We look for motivated young actors who have had experience in either dance or drama and show confidence, ability and a passion to act.

WHAT WE DO

Our students are prepared in all aspects of theatre including voice, improvisation, stagecraft, mime, characterisation and movement.
We provide the opportunity and encouragement for committed students to develop their creativity, uniqueness and personal strength. Over 70% of AYA students have agent representation giving them openings for professional acting work.

Classes are grouped by students' age and maturity. Numbers are limited
to ensure individual attention, and to enable student's work progress and artistic development to be observed. Our young actors are given every opportunity and encouragement to develop their creativity, uniqueness,
and personal strength.

ELIGIBILITY

Acceptance is by audition only for students from 10 years to young adults.

We invite applications from students who:

1. Have attended at least 2 years drama and/or dance classes.
2. Have stage and/or screen experience.
3. Will have reached 10 years of age by 1 February 2009.



AUDITIONS

Auditions for new students are held over Anniversary Weekend each January for the start of classes in February. Every year a limited number of places become available in most classes. Our youngest group - Intermediate Class, 10 -11 years - is entry level and offers our highest new student intake.

Students come to Hungry Creek to become artists, craftspeople, designers and teachers or to gain employment with associated industries. The mission of Hungry Creek Art and Craft School is to:

* Provide a unique, artistically challenging and stimulating environment to assist students in their professional and creative development.
* Encourage you to be innovative rather than imitative.
* Foster a culture of support amongst the staff, students and graduates.
* Make every effort to accommodate the individuals learning style and mode of creative expression and to provide training in a manner that best suits their needs.

There is a strong emphasis on technical skills which are taught in our fully equipped jewellery, sculpture, painting and ceramics studios. Class sizes are limited to 15-20 students enabling individual attention. The school has been offering New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) approved qualifications for 17 years and now offers five NZQA approved qualifications. Students are entitled to the same loans and allowances as University and Polytechnic students.

Hungry Creek welcomes international students. We have two campuses located near New Zealands' largest city, Auckland.

Art and Craft qualifications are offered at our Hungry Creek, Puhoi campus, 45 minutes drive north of Auckland. The entry to the school is via the bridge over the "Hungry Creek". The workshops are nestled in 20 acres of beautiful native, kauri, totara, rimu trees, nikau palms, ponga ferns and tree ferns (the silver fern) which are populated with a variety of New Zealand birds providing a unique environment for students to work in. Class sizes are limited to 15-20 students enabling them to gain individual attention from tutors.

Jewellery qualifications are offered at our North Shore campus situated in Birkenhead, close to bus and ferry transport and the Highbury Shopping Centre. Birkenhead is rich in cafe' culture and village atmosphere and is close to Auckland city, galleries and exhibitions.[详细查看]

A lot of people donate time and energy to ensure the school is a successful and great place to learn and practice art. Inverlochy would especially like to thank the committee, and all those members and friends who give us so much support. We would also like to thank the many people who attend our classes and the fantastic tutors for helping make our school such a great place.


COURSE FEES
Donor members receive a 5% discount on all course fees. All course fees quoted include GST. For the most part they also include the use of tools, equipment, materials and the provision of models where applicable. Students are encouraged to bring any appropriate equipment they may have, and for some classes may need to supply some of their own materials.


CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS
Inverlochy reserves the right to cancel any course or event for which insufficient numbers of students have enrolled. The full amount paid will be refunded in this instance. There will be no refund for students who withdraw from a course once it has commenced . This is because a course is run based on student enrolments and withdrawing from a course jeopardizes the participation of all involved. Students who withdraw from a course up to a week before commencement will receive a full refund, less a $40 administration fee . Students who cancel less than seven days prior to the start of the course will be given a refund of 50% of the course fee.


MEMBERSHIP
Help support our non-profit organization by becoming a donor member. $50 for an individual, or $25 for senior citizens, students and unwaged, membership gives you a 5% discount off all classes, 10% discount on purchases at Gordon Harris and Wellington Photographic Supplies and mates rates at Regional Wines.


CERTIFICATE OF ATTENDANCE
Participants who attend courses will be issued with an Inverlochy Art School Certificate of Attendance on request.


LOSS AND DAMAGE
Inverlochy accepts no responsibility for items that are lost or damaged on the premises, whether they are personal belongings or works of art. All artwork left after a course will be kept for one week unless prior arrangements have been made.


CARS AND PARKING
There are some car parks available for student use, directly in front of and next to the school up the drive. Inverlochy is unusual and fortunate to have sufficient space for parking, however, we are not responsible for supplying free parking to students, should there be no spaces left.
