★ Aries――March 21 – April 19
A lot of last year's difficulties, if you think about it, boiled down to a lot of fiddly little details getting in the way of you realizing your dreams. Let's be honest about it, Aries: struggling with the small stuff just isn't your style. In the next year, you'll find that a lot of these pressures ease off, to the point where your biggest issue may be other people's ability to keep up with you!
The months surrounding your birthday will bring more than the usual amount of Spring Fever. You'll be facing an urge to bust loose from your limitations and, properly handled, that energy will push you to new highs as far as you General satisfaction with life. The summer will find you speaking your mind more with those who are closest to you. You may not have been shy about expressing yourself before, but it's as if you needed to find just the right words.
In the past, knowing what you want out of life and getting the co-operation of those closest to you haven't always gone hand in hand. That theme will carry on throughout much of the year, and will come to a peak again in December. At times there may be frustrations, but if you keep a level head, you'll probably find that those around you really are on your team, ultimately.
Brace yourself for big changes in your work and money life, Aries! This is the year when a lot of your past potential and promise come out. Two eclipses in your career sector (one in January and one in July) will set the stage for a major shift. Some of this will be the fulfillment of things you've been working on quietly for some time, and part of this will simply be thrust on you by circumstance.
Either way, change is good, and will lead to a greater sense of long-term fulfillment on your part. Pluto also continues its long-term travel through your job zone. Pluto is a planet that demands a deep and committed response, whether you thought you were ready for it or not. This isn't at all necessarily bad or difficult news. No one is every 100 percent happy with their work and money life, it seems, and that basic sense of mild ongoing dissatisfaction can be what propels you towards greater career heights. June and July may see you seriously contemplating a change in direction as far as what you do for a living. Keep your eyes open for new opportunities.
As far as actual cash on hand, the news appears to be more good than bad -- especially in September and October. The last year probably wasn't too comfortable (but lacked any serious shortages). The next year will provide stability. No big lottery wins, in other words, but lots of chances to get smaller expenses in line. Keep an eye on the pennies, and the dollars will take care of themselves.
There's a lot of activity in your love life this year -- you'll be a little like a Ram in springtime! Most importantly (and regardless of what state your romantic life is in now), Saturn in your house of committed relationships is going to have you closely questioning and examining any partnerships you may currently have. If you have nothing on the go like that now, you will still find that your attitude towards long-term commitments is likely to undergo a lot of change. You will likely find you take the entire subject more seriously -- or the subject will take you more seriously!
If there is an existing committed relationship, your partner is going to be a valuable source of grounding for you this year. Old issues will be bubbling to the surface (especially in September and October) that may prove to be a challenge. More likely, though, what will be challenged are your preconceptions about that other person in your life, what they mean to you, and what responses this should draw from you.
As far as the potential for new romance (or injecting new life into an existing one), July and August bring new life. If there was ever a year to find new love on summer vacation, this is it!
Regardless of the state of your love life, you'll certainly be drawing a lot of attention this year. The first three months of 2010 will find your stock rising with others. Iif you're looking to develop something new, January through March is your best time to be in circulation. Chances are excellent that love will find you.
★ Taurus――April 20 – May 20
Taurus always gets tagged with things like "pleasure-seeking" and "materialistic." That's probably unfair, in most cases. You're just as good at dishing out the pleasure as you are at seeking it, and who doesn't like a few nice things around? Sadly, there's been just too much struggle in your life the last couple of years when it comes to those two very important parts of your life. Thankfully, 2010 marks the end of that long uphill struggle. Your pleasurable pursuits have been a little more restricted than you'd like over the course of the last two years or so. That's over with now, so ... game on!
The big events this year will not so much be a matter of major happenings as they will be things that have been in the works and are slowly revealing themselves. In the last two years, you've put a lot of work into what makes you happy, while Saturn transited your solar Fifth House. Now that those pressures are finally being relieved, you'll find you are finally gaining traction. Certainly, your love life and your career will feel the difference, but beyond that you'll notice things going a lot better in other departments of your life. You may have already noticed some of these changes starting to kick in; the real results start happening around your birthday in 2010.
After a year when numerous possibilities opened up -- some good, some more challenging -- 2010 is going to be more a year of consolidation and advancement within your chosen career path. If you've faced uncertainty as to which direction to take things, this is good news. If you are unhappy with your current career path, take a look back at events of the past year. Possibilities opened up and contacts were made that will be of help in the next year -- even if you aren't immediately aware of it. If you're looking for a promotion or increased credit in your work place, there are two time frames that will be most to your benefit: January through March, and September through October. These would also be excellent times to get your resume into circulation. Even if you are happy with your current position, there might be something even better out there. That, and having a choice, is rarely a bad thing.
As far as your actually money supply, Taurus has a certain reputation for being prone to over-spending, and there are two points in the year where this will be a serious possibility. June and July may see you shelling out more money than usual on things you may not actually need, like an overly lavish vacation. Secondly, the traditional pre-Christmas spending binge looks to be a little bigger than usual. Try to get that done early this year, and try not to overdo it. People naturally love you, Taurus -- you don't have to buy that!
Regardless of where your romantic life is, the last two years have seen more than their fair share of stresses and strains. This has probably been due to material and circumstantial issues that have been largely out of your control. The good news is that you'll be getting a much better handle on where you stand in your own love life this year. Are you getting the love you want, and if not, why not? What can you do to change things? Ultimately, you'll be able to rest assured that your reputation for being "good" at love and romance remains intact.
If you aren't currently in a relationship, you can look forward to things changing this year. July through September will see a broadening of your social opportunities, with a real shot at a new romantic connection being made at that time. In particular, there may well be opportunities coming about either at your workplace, or because of what you do for a living (directly or indirectly).
In terms of the attention you receive from others, the first three months of 2010 see a distinct increase in the amount of attention you receive -- even, in fact, if you aren't looking for it. A little ego-boost never hurt anyone, but if you're already in a committed relationship, be a little cautious. You may be tempted to cross a line or two. Some of the more constructive ways to use that energy is for business networking, and making social plans.
★ Gemini――May 21 – June 21
Isn't it great being a Gemini? All that charm, that mental flexibility, that ability to see both sides of the issue ... you're the wonder of the zodiac. Take a bow. The problem with that is that both sides of the issue have been kind of a drag. Good news: that's all going to change in the next year!
Gemini is one of the few Sun signs that doesn't have an animal symbol, but this may be the year that all of that changes. In the past few years, with Pluto opposing your sign, you've been a little like a monkey, swinging from branch to branch trying desperately to keep one step ahead of the predators and keep yourself fed. With Pluto now moved on into Capricorn, a lot of the major partnership issues you've faced will be lightening up. You'll still retain the swing, but this year you're going to feel a lot more like a hummingbird: still mobile, still getting things done, but in a much more elegant manner.
Your renowned intellect has been strained the last couple of years, as it's been forced to find solutions to the many issues you've been dealt. In 2010, you'll finally be gaining some traction on your biggest challenges, and solutions will flow to you with ease.
Jupiter, which usually brings good times and good news, is transiting your Career House throughout the first half of this year. This doesn't mean that fame, fortune, a promotion and a better job will just fall into your lap. You'll need to make at least a little effort. That said, your odds for true career success are better this year than they have been in the last decade.
The second half of the year will see you making a wide range of new social contacts that will have a financial payoff down the road. Think of August and September as a chance to do some effective networking that will pay off late in the year or early in 2011. Your greatest source of expense in the next year is likely to be on the home front. Make sure you can really afford that new couch -- or that new house to put it in!
As for your actual money supply, there are opportunities coming up in strange and unexpected places, particularly in July. An eclipse in your money house can serve as both a warning against overspending and as a sign that circumstances are about to change dramatically. Fortunately, your other aspects at that time appear to be more good than bad. Be forewarned though: there are bound to be at least a couple of weeks of genuine uncertainty. Remain optimistic, try not to overspend, and you'll make it through fine.
Saturn will be spending the next two years in your Romance House. This is not usually the most "romantic" of times in the usual sense. One way or another, it appears that this is the year things get serious for you. Don't recoil in horror, Gemini; it may go against the grain of your reputation, but it could be a good thing. Romantic relationships that you have are going to be challenged to either shape up (in the form of greater commitment) or ship out (in the form of a new relationship). Issues surrounding children (both current and planned) will also likely be a major factor.
If you are already in a committed relationship, things will likely be going relatively smoothly for you throughout September to November. Although you may find that your time together is more limited than usual due to scheduling and financial commitments, you'll probably also find that what time you do spend with your partner is more fulfilling.
If you are looking for a new romantic interest, the second half of this year is going to bring an onslaught of attention from potential partners. As a matter of fact, even if you aren't looking for the attention, it's likely to be there anyway. If you haven't had a lot of satisfaction from your romantic life in the last year or so, August to November will be an excellent time to change how you get yourself "on the market," whether it's joining a dating service or simply hanging out in new places. Be receptive to the potential out there, and someone will surely find you.
★ Cancer――June 22 – July 22
One thing that all Crabs (astrological Cancers or the seafood type of crab) know deep in their hearts is that someone, somewhere out there knows how great it would be to bust them wide open and eat them with melted butter. The big news for you this year, Cancer, is that Pluto has moved into your Seventh House, which rules marriage, partnerships and close relationships. This means that someone may very well be cracking your heart open in the next year.
Cancer has a bit of a reputation for enjoying doom and gloom. You don't. You just seem to get more than your fair share of it. It must be that thick shell of yours. Everyone assumes you can just take it.
The good news is that you earned that reputation because you can take it, and more. And often, your greatest moments come when you have overcome the greatest obstacles. Thankfully, the roadblocks you face in 2010 won't be that devastating, but they'll certainly give you an opportunity to shine. New support and new energy will be entering your life from unexpected and overlooked people and things, and you'll be able to soar above it all!
As far as your work life goes, 2010 divides up into two nice, clearly defined chunks: the first half of the year is going to present struggles, and the second half will see a boatload of new opportunities. January and February will be a lot of work -- literally and figuratively -- almost as if everyone ignored their jobs during the run up to Christmas, and then decided to drop everything on your desk. Although your relationships with co-workers may be strained at this time, it isn't anything you can't handle. Be careful not to drag too much of that work stress home with you to a partner, particularly in January. Rather than dwell on it, do your best to find a way to take that experience and use it to your benefit.
June and July will bring some exciting opportunities for advancement. You'll be getting more recognition for your efforts, and the possibility of a raise is in store. If you don't have a regularly scheduled salary review planned for that time, things may be going well enough that you might want to bring the subject up anyway. Even the seed of that notion planted then can take root later.
March to May will urge you to really do something about your actual cash-on-hand situation. You'll have both an increased drive to increase your security, and (paradoxically) the urge to overspend. Try to avoid "emotional overspending" during that time, and the rest of the year should work out for you.
After a year in which you felt that you weren't being heard -- whether by a spouse, or your calls for an adequate mate went unanswered -- things will be shaking loose in dramatic manner in 2010. Two eclipses this year will have a particular effect on your relationship with a partner. In January, an eclipse in your Partnership House will bring issues to the forefront. If you have an existing relationship, tensions that have been building will become unavoidable; and if you aren't, you may suddenly find yourself more dissatisfied with that situation (or a new partner may suddenly come into your life). In either case, the more dramatic of the effects may be short-lived but will give you the opportunity to make some long-needed changes.
Pluto also continues its long journey though this department of your life, and Pluto demands change and transformation. Although this doesn't necessarily mean bad news, it will certainly require that you address any issues between you and your partner, and -- maybe more importantly -- that you question within yourself what a committed relationship really means to you. Is it possible you're in the right relationship for the wrong reason? Could you be in the wrong relationship for the right reason? Inner work can be difficult, especially when it involves another person, but ultimately it's always worth doing in the long run.
As far as romance in general goes, however, it's more a good year than a bad one. May and June in particular will see new romantic opportunities coming your way, and will pump new life into a current relationship.
★ Leo――July 23 – August 22
Oh, big playful Leo -- how the last couple of years have been dramatic (and often less than kind) for you! There's little doubt that whatever you've gone through in the last year, the uppers have fueled your inherent charm and lovability, and the downers have gotten a little ignored. That's one of the problems with being a Leo: you can be so sunny that no one notices the rainy days. Mars in your sign this spring is going to give you newfound energy and motivation to really get things done your way, and the summer will bring new opportunities to express yourself.
The challenges will be slowly changing from big drama to smaller, more manageable issues. You've probably been too busy taking care of others to really take care of yourself lately, but 2010 marks a new direction in taking yourself seriously, and taking care of yourself with the due diligence and concern you usually reserve for others. Don't think of it as becoming inwardly-focused; think of it as doing the necessary maintenance on yourself so you can do a better job of letting your light shine for others.
Life is going to be taking a turn for the philosophical in the next year. All of the noise and confusion of the last year may have made you neglect your Higher Self; that too should be a part of your personal care regimen. This year is going to provide ample opportunities for you to get caught up on your spiritual homework. And, unlike regular homework, you'll probably feel like there's a point to doing it!
The last two years of your work life have seen some pretty significant pressures, and congratulations -- you survived them! In all likelihood, this has been because of conditions that are completely out of your control. Fortunately, 2010 will be the year that you can finally feel that your career path is squarely back in your hands. General economic conditions will be improving for you, and you'll be receiving greater recognition for your efforts.
July through September will see new opportunities for you to move up the ladder in your current career path, or possibly branch out into a new position or a new field altogether. Warm up your resume and get it circulating -- even in fields of work that may be feeling the economic pinch, the unexpected is likely to turn up and will likely be a good thing.
The most important financial news in 2010 is -- get ready to breathe a big sigh of relief -- that Saturn has finally ended its two-year transit of your Money House. It's probably felt like an uphill struggle during this time, with more time and effort being spent bailing water out of the economic boat rather than actually being able to get anywhere. Fortunately, you are done with all that now. Things that in the recent past have cost you money are likely to stop, and the same amount of effort made towards economic independence will get you twice the results you've been used to. August through October in particular will bring improved financial circumstances.
The money may not have always been in place in the last year, but one way or another your romantic life has undoubtedly seen some opportunities and some challenges -- with a likely emphasis on the "challenges" part. Pluto has finally moved out of your Fun and Games House, and this will undoubtedly bring a greater sense of stability to your pleasurable and romantic pursuits. If what you are seeking is a new relationship, there will be plenty of opportunities from April to June, when both Venus and Mars will be working to your advantage. Don't be surprised if you receive more than your usual share of sidelong glances and unexpected invitations during this time.
If you are in a more committed relationship, the long slow transit of Neptune will continue to make things a little unclear. You may very well find yourself looking at your partner through rose-colored glasses. Admittedly, a little of that sort of thing is necessary at times. But be cautious of flare-ups in November and December: the usual holiday pressures appear to be applying to your connection to your loved ones more than the usual financial strain.
★ Virgo――August 23 – September 22
Whew! Feel that enormous burden sliding off of your shoulders, like you've been carrying around an overstuffed backpack for the last couple of years? That would be Saturn, planet of structures and limitation, moving out of your sign. Congratulations, first of all, on having simply made it through more or less in one piece. You passed through the fire and made it out the other side.
Now, what to do with that spiritual Medal of Honor you've earned? Well, for one thing, establish who it is you really are with both yourself and those around you. Your ability to quietly endure both the big and little outrages of life have served you well in the last couple of years, and many of those around you may have come to assume that either it wasn't as rough on you as it was, or that you are somehow made of steel. In fact, you may have come to the same conclusion yourself. Virgo has a reputation for being able to take care of others with the best of them -- but can you turn that same care and attention on yourself? That's the big question you'll be facing in 2010.
The good news (beyond simply less bad news) is that there will be all kinds of opportunities opening up for you in new directions as far as fun, recreation and romance. So take advantage of those whenever you can. You've earned it!
The big news for Virgo this year for work and money is not so much an onslaught of good news as it is the release of tremendous pressure. Neither Saturn nor Pluto have done you any favors in the last two years. Fortunately for you, they've both moved on to make economic trouble for someone else. The next year of your financial life should run far more smoothly than you've gotten used to, and your perseverance will be rewarded in 2010.
Part of the gains you'll be making will be as a result of good old-fashioned penny-pinching and money management. Whether you had a natural inclination that way before, you will find that you have newfound talents in the wise spending department.
Your personal earning ability will also be improving in the next year. April and May will bring opportunities for you to either shine within the context of the job you already have, or to reach out and find something new. There are no particular warning signs for the next year, but you may want to start giving some real thought to what the next logical step should be on your career path. If there is one downside to the work year ahead, it's a nagging doubt that you are in the right place and using your talents to your advantage. The last three months of the year in particular -- the holiday rush season in many lines of work -- may find you questioning whether your current position is the best for you. Do your groundwork, and opportunities will present themselves at this time.
This is the year that everything changes, one way or another! Saturn has left your sign, so you aren't feeling as weighed down by life as you once were. Pluto is transiting your Romance House, bringing revolutionary changes to your love life and your romantic pursuits. And, to top it all off, two eclipses hit your romance sector.
The first of the two happens in January, and makes for a major shift that will carry on throughout the first few months of the year. If you are currently in a stable committed relationship, be prepared for some jolts. Don't panic just yet; the jolt will be of a temporary nature, but could bring long-standing issues to the surface that need to be addressed for the sake of the relationship.
Then in July, a second eclipse will liven things up again. Unlike the previous eclipse that landed in your House of Committed Relationships, this one affects your House of Love Received. Certainly if you are in a long-term relationship at the time, it will be affected. But even if you aren't, don't be surprised if new romantic potentials appear out of nowhere -- or from a direction you didn't expect.
If you are in a committed relationship, the first month of the year is generally good. Then from February onwards, Jupiter rolls into your Eighth House. This brings a new emphasis on the physical side of your relationship. A bit of a caution though: this doesn't necessarily just mean your partner. Whether it's appropriate or not, prepare to be hit on a lot.
★ Libra――September 23 – October 22
The symbol for Libra is Balance. In the next year, you'll find yourself doing even more balancing than usual; you're going to be pressed to decide if your internal sense of happiness should be the focus of life more than the outward signs of success. This may have been weighing heavily on your mind for the last several months, as far as work and the state of your love life. What you are likely to be weighing this year is a little more intangible (and a little more important) than those things. Specifically, in 2010 you'll find yourself weighing out the cost of the connections you've formed for yourself versus their actual value to you.
There's going to be a lot of pressure on you from within and without as to who you really are at heart and who you really are to those closest to you. This will be both in your personal life and at work. The natural Libra impulse is often to make peace with these kind of pressures, or negotiate your way around them. Your best bet in the next year though will be to recognize your own inherent value -- not just what you appear to be worth to others.
In the final analysis this is all good news, even if it's good news in disguise. No one is better than you at beautifying things or finding the inherent beauty in the mundane. Once you realize that you yourself are at least as shiny and pretty as any accessory -- in your heart and soul, where beauty really counts -- you'll have begun assembling a better You. Breathe through the difficult spots, and enjoy the results!
The last year has probably presented more frustrations than triumphs in the work and money departments for you. Thankfully, it all turns around this year! There will be two eclipses -- one in January and one in July -- that will shake loose the situations you've been dealing with for a while now. In January, an eclipse in your Career House will make for distinct changes at your place of work. At first this change may be a cause for some concern: an increase in responsibilities, for example. Don't worry, you can handle it. You'll have the opportunity to show off your skills in new ways that are more likely to garner attention.
The second eclipse will finish the course set by the first one, and will likely propel you into a new job or a new position of prominence in the old one. Although these developments may come as a surprise to you, in hindsight they will have been a result of events that have been brewing for a while. If you think about where your work life has been the last couple of years, it's obvious that some kind of change was called for, even if it isn't immediately obvious.
As far as actual cash on hand, although it isn't likely there will be any windfalls or lottery wins, there will be a distinct sense of improvement developing gradually over time. June through August will show some distinct improvements.
First of all, when it comes to anything scary you might have heard about Saturn being in your sign this year -- don't believe the hype! Yes, there will be a new sense of seriousness about things, but nothing you can't handle. And one of the nice things about this new seriousness is that it may well bring some serious romance into your life!
If you are currently in a committed relationship, June through August will find you involved in a new depth of communication with your partner. Knowing what you both want and finding ways to get there together will be of new importance to both of you. If you find yourself looking for love, much of the year will bring newfound attention. Mars in your House of Love Received will bring surprising attention from both new players and those who may have not expressed an interest before. If you are seeking a mate, this is good news. If you already have one, this could be good news or it could just be awkward.
Neptune will continue to cast a fuzzy shadow over your romantic judgment for much of the year. Being as it is in your Romance Sector, it has undoubtedly made for some interesting circumstances in your love life the last couple of years, and possibly some less-than-wise choices for yourself. But hey, what's a little romance without a little delusion? Although those conditions will continue to be in place through the year, both experience and supporting transits will help you to avoid the worst of the haziness, and you'll still be able to enjoy that Neptune buzz!
★ Scorpio――October 23 – November 21
Scorpios have a certain reputation for taking things a little too seriously, and to some extent you've earned that. The next year is going to give you new opportunities to really express yourself in new ways, and to get results from all that Scorpionic intensity you've been carrying around all your life. On the one hand, there will be new pressures developing as far as a lot of long-standing issues that you've faced for a long time, and that have been building for the last few years. New channels of communication will be opening up for you, and new ways to express yourself.
There may be a sense of deep pressure building when it comes to how you live your life and deal with the Big Picture issues. The usual problems of day-to-day living -- paying the bills, dealing with relationships, making time for yourself -- may merely be the guise in which these issues present themselves. In fact, with Saturn transiting your Twelfth House of hidden issues, you may find yourself confronted with people and issues that are merely your own issues in disguise. Think of it as a psychodrama where those around you are merely playing out individual psychological factors within yourself.
The good news is that no other sign in the zodiac is better equipped to stare an issue in the eye and see it for what it really is than you. Over the years, you've developed the tools you'll need to not only make it through another year but to prosper in all the ways that really count.
You've put in a lot of work over the last two years, Scorpio, with at least some reward for your efforts. Even in a difficult economy, you've shown your ability to survive almost anything. In 2010, you'll finally be gaining some traction in your career and will begin to see results. Mars in your Career House for a large portion of the year will give you ambition, and although opposing forces won't yield immediately, you have the determination to make the most of this newfound energy. Pressures in your home and personal life that may have distracted you from making the most of work will lighten up.
At least as important as what you do for money has to be where the money goes. This year you will see a lightening of the demands being made on your budget. Part of this is due to pure budgetary skill on your part, but much of the improvement will be due to reduced expenses. Take the time this April and May to check into possible debt consolidation or other ways to ease the burden.
Perhaps the most important change to your work and money picture will be your gaining a sense of the Big Picture much more than you've had in the last couple of years. Having a job is one thing; having one that you are happy with and that you find fulfilling is another one entirely. This year will bring new clarity as to your goals, and will give the drive to get there.
Regardless of whether you're in a relationship or not, Scorpio, you're certainly going to be getting a lot of potential romantic attention this year, and you'll be having a lot of fun with it. Expansive Jupiter starts the year in your Romance Sector, and even if you aren't looking for a relationship, the opportunities will be there. Conditions may not have been the best in the recent past for you, but all of that is over for now. Time to cut loose! June, July and August is prime time to strike. If you're looking for a relationship (or want to solidify an existing one), make the effort during those three months and you'll be rewarded.
When it comes to actual total love in your life, 2010 will be better than what you've seen the last few years. You've probably learned a lot about how you fit into other people's lives, and you'll be able to judge your relationships more wisely as a result. If you're in a committed relationship now, April and May will prove to be excellent. If you aren't in one at that time, it may just be the time to kick an existing relationship up a notch, or find a new romance.
One thing to watch out for this year is irrational attachments: flings, in other words. You'll have more than the usual urge to splurge with your affections like someone spending their lottery win. If you're looking to avoid that sort of thing in your life, you'd better stay out from under the mistletoe in November and December.
★ Sagittarius――November 22 – December 21
Did you just hear that gigantic cry of "hooray"? That was the sound of millions of Sagittarian lives getting better in 2010. Pluto has moved out of your sign, and Saturn has left Virgo (which wasn't doing you any favors either, as you may have noticed from the unusual pressures in your home life, and the difficulties you've had getting what you need to feel secure).
Of course, as much as you'd like all of life to match that happy, carefree streak you have, you know it doesn't always work out that way. The big pressures have just moved on and changed form. Fortunately, your reputation for being able to see the bright side of things will generally be justified by these new issues. There will be new challenges to your money supply and how you handle your money, and yet you'll also have new opportunities to correct problems in your material life, and maybe even prosper more than you ever have before.
Work is also going to present new roles and new opportunities, and will also give you chances to shine. And there will also be new demands from your friends and loved ones. But those same issues will help you sort out who is of real value to you, and what your real value is to them too. The hard work that you've sometimes had to put in during the last two years is going to start paying off for you. And for some of you, the rewards will be enormous. Can I hear a "hooray" out there?
Work? Money? These are not things that Sagittarius has a reputation for caring about all that much -- it clashes with your carefree image. Unfortunately, the last couple of years have made you take these things seriously. That's because Saturn has been passing through the Career Sector of your sky, making for all kinds of restrictions and limitations. Fortunately, that influence has passed, and (relatively speaking) it should be clear sailing from now on. Congratulations on having simply made it through more or less in one piece. You passed through the fire and made it out the other side.
July and August will find you excelling at your work. Don't be afraid to point this out to your boss, either; They'll be more likely to respond positively to your work at that time, and you'll be more likely to reap the benefits.
A newfound sense of economic relief may give you the urge to party hard with your earnings. Be careful of this. Just as the last two years have seen stresses and strains on your professional life, this year is going to be seeing all kinds of new opportunities for you to spend. Pluto in your House of Money brings profound lessons with it. You will be challenged to be wiser with your cash. Think of this as a chance to make what you have go farther, so that you can have that much more security when things are better. January and February will likely be easier on your money supply than it is most years, and the summer will likely see a further improvement to you income.
If you're in a long-term relationship now, things should go generally smoothly, or at least not worse than they've been of late. One thing to watch for is that career pressures on either your end or that of your partner could make for some new stresses on the relationship. Keep your head about you, and you'll make it through.
Didn't it seem to you like your love life in the last while was sort of a victim of outside circumstances, as much as anything else? In 2010, this will no longer be the case. You will be seeing your romantic goals (and the people you involve yourself with) through new and clearer lenses.
Regardless of what kind of relationship you're in at the time, March and April are going to come with more than the usual amount of Spring Fever. If you aren't involved with anyone, this could give you the impulse to get involved. And if you are in a relationship, this could give you the impulse to either shake things up, or move on entirely. Put a little thought into it first, and make sure that your impulsiveness is tempered with wisdom.
As a complicating factor, you're not going to have a shortage of romantic opportunities, whether you want them or not. It's as if your attractiveness has been turned up a notch -- or maybe people are just paying more attention. If you're single this can't help but be good news, but again can be challenging if you are in a relationship that needs tweaking but not trashing. As a result of all this attention, don't be surprised if you become the object of some jealousy from your romantic partner(s), particularly in May and June.
★ Capricorn――December 22 – January 19
One of the things that never seems to come across in those generic descriptions of Capricorns is their inherent sweetness. You're every bit as kind and caring as anyone else (if not more so), but have a tendency to hide it behind a mask that downplays your vulnerability. Now that Pluto (the planet which is best at blowing things up) has moved into your sign, and Saturn has moved into your Tenth (the Work House).
Although this one-two punch might be too much for lesser souls to handle, you're well equipped with the tenacity to not only survive these circumstances, but in fact come out ahead on the deal. Think of these two planetary placements as bringing new ways to bring out your inner strength, without you having to lose that sweetness and kindness you've had all along.
Pluto has moved from the spooky funhouse of your Twelfth House into the light of day, figuratively speaking, in your First House. This means you'll be focusing on how you see the world, and how it sees you, in new and powerful ways. Think of it as an opportunity to evolve into a higher form of yourself.
Capricorn is actually ruled by Saturn, which not only represents difficulties and limitations (every planet has its bad side), but also represents the obstacles you have to overcome to get what you want out of life. In your Fourth House now, this means questions around your home life, and brings the chance to (literally) put your house in order. The next year's difficulties will mostly serve as an opportunity for everyone else to admire how well you overcame them. And you will!
Capricorn has never had the reputation for being a "floater" -- letting things go by without a care in the world. It's that sense of seriousness that makes so many of you popular with your bosses. With Saturn moving into Libra, you will probably have already heard a lot of the Air and Water signs moping about how it's affected their lives for the worse (even if they aren't aware of the astrological reasons behind it). Saturn, despite ruling limitations, is actually good news in many ways for you and your career this year. It will bring a new sense of seriousness, structure and order to your work life, and that's exactly the kind of environment you excel in.
You may have noticed that the economy hasn't been all that great out there, and you've likely been as affected by that as the next guy. And at the same time, you've probably retained more of your sanity through it all better than the next guy, despite the natural worries that it produces. Your career and general sense of direction in life will be solidifying and gaining ground this year. You know how you heard that it's this sector or that sector that will lead the economy out of the recession? The truth is, it's going to be you leading the economy out of its funk. Think of it as a Reality Show where the first contestant to build a shelter out of the wreckage wins the game. Congratulations!
Your love life can be in one of three positions in the next year: single, in a relationship, or in a committed relationship. Regardless of where you find your status this year, there will be change, and it will likely be for the better. If you're single and looking, there are a couple of windows of opportunity this year to change that. Forces are coming together to make April and September to November this year prime time for you to either find someone, or (even better!) for someone to find you. Even if you are in a relationship during those periods, you can expect the romance to get a little better.
If you're already in a relationship, May and June mark a time when the love and warmth will be ramped up. If there has been any distancing or difficulties in your love life, it will be an excellent time for the two of you to sit down and truly hear each other out, and do the work to make things stronger.
And if 2010 finds you in a committed, long-term relationship -- hang on to your hat! Two eclipses in 2010 will make for major shifts in your relationship, both of which have been building for a while. January is the first: watch for changes in your relationship that come to a head in July, when the second eclipse comes into play. If you want to move your relationship to a new degree of closeness and/or commitment, July will be the time to make your move.
★ Aquarius――January 20 – February 18
Aquarius often gets pegged as being a little too cerebral for its own good. But the truth is, that's where you do your best work. The next year is going to give you the opportunity to use those sharp mental powers to focus on what it is you really want out of life. Two eclipses fall in your Twelfth House, which will bring out your intuitive side, and give you a chance to see your life from a less-strictly-logical (yet no less valid) perspective. The additional information they give you about your life and your position in it will be your big chance to put things in order.
Saturn is also going to be bringing big changes as to your philosophical approach to life. What fundamental approaches to life have worked for you, and what haven't? You may have never stopped to ask that question, or known the benefits of finding the right answer to it. This year, those answers will come, and your life is likely to be a saner, better-adjusted place for it.
Of course, it's impossible to have a well-ordered world around you without having a few other people in it. The middle part of the year will see close friends and partners coming and going in your life, more so than you've seen in a long time. In part, this will be a reflection of the changes going on in your "higher mind." And again, the overall effect should be a positive one. It's your worldview, Aquarius -- make it the best you can!
Adaptation and flexibility are absolute requirements for life in the modern world, and this applies to your work and money situation as much as to any other area of your life. Economic uncertainty has been running wild for the last year or so, and you've felt the fear just as much as anyone. The economic weather simply hasn't wanted to play along with your high ideals about how things should be. That's probably made you at least as fretful as the average person, and maybe more so. Fortunately, your unique gift for seeing an ideal and staying focused on it will have definite rewards in 2010.
When it comes to your actual sense of direction with your career and how you fit into life, Neptune will continue to make things fuzzy, but Jupiter is coming to the rescue! It moves into your Money House in January, and will bring much better luck with your cash supply. The entire period of January through September will see dramatically improved luck; not necessarily "winning the lottery" type luck, though. The same amount of effort you put into your finances will be rewarded with better results. Take advantage of this time by using your head with your budget, and you will see dramatic gains.
Work in general will continue to be the same combination of grind and reward that you're used to throughout most of the year, with an overall slight reduction in pressure. April through June may find you subject to more than the usual share of office politics -- stay above it all and no harm will come to you. The last three months before your next birthday will see newfound energy and optimism with your work, and you'll be sure to impress someone higher up the food chain during that time. Congratulations!
Wherever Cupid finds you on your birthday, in the following year you will be ending up somewhere significantly different. December through February may not necessarily bring bad news in your love life, but events will occur that cause you to challenge your satisfaction with where things are, regardless of whether or not you're involved with anyone. If you are in a committed relationship, you'll likely feel that pressures in your own life demand more time and attention, taking time away from your relationship. If you aren't with anyone at that time, you're probably going to find yourself questioning the joys of single life harder than you would normally.
General romantic opportunities, whether in a new relationship or with an existing partner, will increase significantly in two important time frames: April through June, and the last two months before your next birthday. In both cases, a small amount of effort on your part will reap significant rewards. It would be the optimum time to join a dating service, or in some other way change your search techniques.
If you're in a relationship but aren't fully committed, the entire year will bring pressures from within and without to change things up. Some of this will be subtle, whereas other pressures will be overt. The process peaks in July and August, and it's possible that you might feel cornered into making a big change that may not entirely be to your benefit. Of course, ultimately, it's your decision. Don't let anyone else make it for you!
★ Pisces――February 19 – March 20
Okay, pause for a moment and check your pulse. Still there? Good. That means you survived the last couple of years with both Saturn and Pluto in less-than-perfect places for you. And by "less than perfect," I mean "lousy." Good news! Both of astrology's heavyweights have moved on to more constructive places for you. Now is the time to take that famous Pisces sensitivity (still intact from the challenges of the last while) and put it to work making your life a happier and more comfortable place.
You'll be receiving a lot more attention from others in 2010: loved ones, family and co-workers will all be drawn to you at times like moths to a flame. And as a result of the last couple of years worth of hassle, you'll be a stronger person with better judgment, and much better able to handle the influx. Enjoy your new position at the center of your own social circle!
One more noteworthy change from the previous year: Jupiter will be in your sign for most of the year, giving you a newfound sense of optimism and happiness about things no matter how they turn out. You'll be feeling expansive, but be careful not to expand too much -- this transit also comes with a more than usual chance of weight gain. There will be a renewed emphasis on health, fitness and personal well-being in the spring -- take advantage of that. Then again, maybe you just deserve the break. What's a pound or to compared to real happiness?
After a year of uncertainty and low-level dissatisfaction, your career is going to be facing the broadest range of possibilities, pitfalls and potentials you've seen in recent memory -- exactly what you've needed to shake things loose and make your working life more like the one you deserve. You've gained a new perspective on who your really are in the last few years, and now it's time to find the career path that more closely matches The Real You. Don't over-react to the incoming waves in the next year. Rather, watch the signs, be patient and thoughtful, and above all Know Thyself and the process will result in you attaining new heights.
April, May and June bring new inspiration with work. You may find yourself taking on a new project or an expanded role. Don't let the temporary increase in the workload get you down; planetary forces will supply with a chance to shine! This would also be an excellent time period in which to warm up your resume and get it into circulation. Your current boss isn't the only person out there who is likely to be impressed.
In terms of actual cash on hand, 2010 will provide the usual struggles, but with a couple of highlights. The first two months of 2010 will see more of a pinch in the wallet than usual. So the more careful you are with Holiday shopping, the easier it will go. From March onwards, new circumstances enter your financial life that will be in place for the long term. Your expenditures may go up at first, but the conditions will be right for new and creative ways to handle your money, and ways to make more. You may want to start considering self-employment as either a mainstay or a side project; new doors will be opening in both regards. Don't spend all your money (or time) in one place!
Pisces has such a "sweetness and light" reputation when it comes to love and romance that you'd think they would be popular and sought-after mates all the time. Saturn's passage through your Partnership House during the last couple of years has been a challenging time that way; it may have been harder than usual to get a date, or (more likely) you may have had difficulty getting a long-term relationship to run properly. Thankfully, that process has ended now, and the less-than-rewarding times you've been through should prove to have simply cleaned the slate and made room for new romantic fulfillment!
If you are looking for new romance, there are two times in the next year where if you lay out the bait, you'll catch some attention. The first is January and February, when you will be in the spotlight among potential paramours. With little or no extra effort on your part, you'll simply be getting more attention. With a little assistance from you, that attention can be developed into the fire you're looking for! Secondly, May and June are a promising time for romantic pursuits.
If you are in a committed relationship, the challenges of the last couple of years may have shaken the foundations more than either of you are comfortable with. April through July will bring old issues into focus, but will also give you the opportunity to do some (possibly much-needed) repair work. Finally, August and September will give you the chance to test those repairs and to get it all running again as smoothly as you want. Enjoy it -- you've earned the good times to come!
10 Common Myths about Your Credit Report & Score
Credit has its fair share of myths, legends and misinformation. Pile on top the proprietary nature of credit scores, the formulas for which are closely guarded secrets, and navigating the credit waters becomes even more confusing.
Time to dispel some common myths about credit reports, credit scores and credit cards:
1. Pulling your credit report will hurt your credit score.
When you pull your credit report for your own educational purposes, it’s considered a “soft inquiry” and will NOT affect your credit score. On the other hand, when a creditor or lender pulls your credit report for the purpose of extending you credit or a loan, it’s a “hard inquiry” and may negatively impact your credit score.
2. Your income is factored into your credit score.
Your salary has nothing to do with your credit report and credit score. You may make a solid living, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you have good credit.
3. Closing a credit card account will help your credit score.
When you close a credit card account, you may be affecting your “credit utilization.” Credit utilization is simply how much credit you use (total of all balances) compared to how much credit is available to you (total of all credit limits). When you close an account, you’re lowering the amount of credit that’s available to you, which may increase your credit utilization percentage. A higher credit utilization may negatively impact your credit score, as it suggests to a creditor or lender that you’re a higher risk.
4. There’s only one credit score that all creditors and lenders use to determine your credit-worthiness.
The truth is there are a lot of credit scores out there. And on top of the different credit scores that are available, there are different credit reports on which a credit score can be based.
5. If you pay all your bills on time, there’s no need to check your credit report.
It’s important to check your credit report regularly no matter what your situation to make sure the information on your credit report is accurate. Mistakes are made, inaccurate information is reported and if you’re not on top of it, your credit score may suffer.
Check your credit at least every six months at free websites like Quizzle.com. You’ll get a free credit report and free credit score, plus the ability to dispute inaccuracies easily and online.
6. Paying off a past-due account will remove that item from your credit report.
Negative information – like late payments and collections – can stay on your credit report for up to seven years from the date of the initial missed payment. Some bankruptcies can stay on your credit report for up to 10 years from the date the bankruptcy was filed.
When you pay off an account that was previously past due, your credit report will be updated to reflect that you’re current on the account. And as time goes on, the negative information will have less of an effect on your credit score. However, as the purpose of a credit report is to keep a tally of your credit history and how reliably you’ve managed your credit, that information will stay put for seven years in most cases.
7. Your checking, savings and investment accounts impact your credit score.
Checking, savings and investments do not show up on your credit report unless perhaps you are delinquent with a payment or past due on monies owed.
8. Paying cash for everything and not having any credit card debt will ensure a good credit score.
Never using credit can actually hurt your credit score. Creditors and lenders often consider people with no debt and no credit cards a higher risk than those who have credit cards and have proven that they’re able to manage their debt responsibly.
9. Small debts like library fines, unpaid parking tickets and utility bills don’t affect your credit score.
It’s not uncommon for libraries to turn over even small unpaid debts to collections agencies, which can wind up on your credit report and significantly impact your credit score. And more and more, utility companies are regularly reporting to credit bureaus.
10. Debit cards and pre-paid credit cards can help you build credit.
Because debits cards and pre-paid credit cards are essentially electronic checks and not an extension of credit, they don’t show up on your credit report. If you’re looking to build credit, using a secured or unsecured credit card responsibly is the best way to go.
