First Aid's Pharmacology part is very good. If you can remember all those
points you will be able to do most pharmacology questions.
Try to do some pharmacology questions, then go back to First Aid to see if
the BUZZ words are there or not.
For those who didn't study Pharmacology in English it's not easy to remember
drug names. Don't worry. All beta blockers end with "lol", all TCA end with
"ine". There are rules to remember those names. And for all TCAs try to
rememe the fist letters and come up with your own mnemonics such as "I(
imipramine) A(amitriptyline)m N(Notriptyline)obody C(Clomipramine)leaning D(
Desipramine)og", same rule applies to beta blockers and other drugs. For
step 1 it's very evident for some questions you only need to pick the one
from another class of drugs.
Other thing step 1 likes to test is mechanism, metabolism, side effect and
interaction. Pharmacology is actually easy one if you can remember drug
names and class of drugs. For Benzo, need to remember "Out The Liver" for
those not metabolized by liver.
