This is a small program, but I like it a lot. They take 2 residents per year
and interview 20 candidates. All interviews are completed by Dec 10th and
by Dec 15th, they make their own rank list. If the top two candidates are
IMG, they would give prematch offer that time.

They interview one candidate per day. Each interview last 1-2 days, depends
on your schedule. I chose one day interview only and were arranged to meet 7
-8 faculties, basically everyone in the program. Interview with chairman
last one hour. He gave introducation of the program and the candidate
selecting process. He didn't ask me a single questions. Afterwards, I met
the rest of the faculty. The PD is a nice woman. We chatted a lot randomly
and half an hour just flew by. Only 2-3 faculties asked interview type
questions, such as "tell me about yourself"; "research", e.t.c. All commen
questions. Most of time, I just chatted with them, about my hometown, my
school, my family, my baby. They also tell me their own life story. The
whole process is very pleasant.

Residents gave me a tour and then took me out for lunch. They are all easy
to mix with. They praised a lot of the program, especially the teaching part
. The faculties are dedicated to teach and they all learn a lot during
residency. They seem to be very content. Most of the residents are female
and they are all so, so, so pretty! They came from all over the world but
all speak very fluent English. I feel I am too plain looking to be a
resident there. :)

What I like about the program: 1. small program, you got a lot personal
attention and personalized teaching. 2. very warm atmosphere, I feel they
are like a family. The relationship between attendings and residents are
very close. 3. location: South beach of Miami.

Weakness of the program: No research. They just got an university
affiliation and are trying to improve this aspect.

My background is relatively weak compared to most of pathology CMG
applicants.
2002 graduate; U.S. Ph.D with very few so so publications; need H1-B; 99/99/
pass, step 3 not yet taken.
As far as I understand, they have several AMG applicants for interview. As I
have mentioned in my post, they don't have research going on in the program
. Therefore, if you have strong research background, they might consider you
don't fit.
When I went for the interview, several faculties mentioned "you have done
excellent research.. blahblah...we might not be able to offer what you are
looking for in a residency training..." As I have said, my research is
really so so but for them, a Ph.D. degree is more than what they want
already. I have to keep emphasizing that I want clinical training rather
than research training during residency to convince them.
