haha,thanks. Just saw this post.
Actually it's a quite tough situation, or call it dilemma.
But as a surgeon, I'd like to cut it piece by piece for analysis.
First, the PD set her an IV appointment definitely was not in order to
embarrass her on purpose. That's for sure. So, that also means she's
qualified for the IV.
There's not much detail about how the IV going. So it could be 3
1. PD's satisfied, but not convinced that she (shoemaker's friend) will
2. PD's not satisfied, and so she just wanted to have an excuse to turn
(shoemaker's friend) down
3. PD's not satisfied, but Ped' PD was satisfied & she's asking for Ped'PD
could be possible since she got the PS)
Among these 3 situation, I think the first 2 are more possible. Because
PD already knew she applied for another program, mostly would not rank her
So, now left the only choice to grab this one. She can give it a try, but
mostly won't work 'cause the PD's statement was pretty strong, also her
evidence did support that (different length of PS). I do think #2 is the
most possible reason. Unless she can bring out more strong evidences that
supports her theory that she prefers IM more than Ped(if she did have strong
confidence that she did well in IV), she's doomed to fail.
It's a great lesson. Since those PDs do have great chances to communicate
each other, so I will take that as precaution. thanks.
