pathology 面试大都比较relax, someone said that prepare for 5 Qs:
why pathology?
why now?
Tell me about yourself?
What are you looking for in a program?
Do yo have any questions for me?

再谈到面试,还有一个常被问到的问题是:why are you interested in our program?
The truth is, as an IMG, we are interested in any program. However, you will
have to find something, again unique about the program, to answer the
question, which reflects your genuine interest in the program.
From the side of the program, there are always two questions they want to
find out answers: 1. Is he/she good? 2. Is he/she likely/interested to join
us? We tend to focus on the first part, but the second part is also very
important, IMHO.

1。 What are the moments you felt greatest personal growth?
2. What are the epidemiology difference between China and USA in term of
leukemia/lymphoma?
3. What do you think is the reason that medical students are not that
interested in pathology? What should we do to change that?

关于文化,也有个别interviewer问我:where do you think you can improve
yourself?这个问题我觉得和what is your weakness差不多。 I was
raised in tranditional chinese culture, we were taught to be modest and be
quiet, which is a way ro show respect to others.

care provider, insurance system, PCP system, appointment system, resource

I'm very interested in how you answered this Q?

dok

considered as "real doctors" by many; second, the roles of pathologists in
patient care are not clear to them; finally, the distorted image of the
pathologists working in the isolated lab or only doing autopsy scares lots
of medical students.

solution, more educaion of pathology as a specialty, more education about
its critical role in patient care, more education about the interactions
between pathologists and other physicians....

。 hehe.

1. tie to the field
, that means you had US path experience and you have LORs from well-known
pathologists.

2.Tie to the program, or so called connection, if you did a rotation/
observership in the program and you did well, likely you will be invited
even if you have less than perfect score.

3. research, Vinnyboy (http://www.usmleforum.com/files/forum/2008/4/326343.php) from usmleforum did not have 99/99 or even 95/95, but he got invites from U of wash, Wash U, U of Chicago, Brigham, UTSW....why? he had high profile papers in the field of immunology, and many pathologists are actually also immunologists because transfusion is a big part of clincial service.

4.Something unique, one of my friend had background of computational biology
,he had tons of paper on genome sequence analysis. As you may know, one of
the next big thing in pathology is informatics. So no wonder he got lots of
very good interviews.
