I have just spent six days in Austin and managed to go to the 6 of the Top 10
places to go there.
Capitol is a great piece of architecural work with practical as well as
beautiful designs, full of note-worthy details plus enchanting stories behind
those walls and portraits.
What a view from Mt. Bonnell especially when it has just rained.
Though personally not a fan of Bats, the sight of so many bats coming out of
that bridge really amazed me. The spectacular view surely is worth the nearly
2 hour waiting :)
Lake Travis looks gorgeous from Oasis and the food there tastes real good.
the best Mexican food I have tasted so far. MM... Sitting there eating the
food in front of the lake reminds me so much of the West Lake in Hangzhou.
The only difference seems to be that we drank Tea back in HZ.
UT Towers is interesting. Though we happened to be there on a heavily rainy
day, the view from there is nonetheless spectacular. Shot some pictures of
the traces of those gun shots around the Clock.
Ah there's the fancy, cool History Museum. Even 3 hours was not enough for me
to have a thorough look around:(. Tx people are really proud of their
history.
The IMAX movie was really cool. We saw the Space Station shot by NASA and
narrated by Tom Cruise. The ashes and flame stirred up by the take off of the
Space Shuttle was like happening before your eyes and the zero gravity was
really amazingly depicted...
I originally planned to go to an outdoor Sunday Evening Concert somewhere but
it was raining all the time. However, I should admit the music from the local
radio was generally very good, more lively and unique than what I got in the
Baltimore-DC area.
Too bad I didn't go to 6th Street.
Good for you guys to have so many great things in Austin! Hope I'll be here
again to enjoy the other good things!
