Model 3大幅度降价。

Model Y急急的推出。

其实是因为需求疲软。

Tesla's onslaught of announcements is starting to make analysts wonder if
customers are losing interest in its cars.

All of this suggests Tesla is rushing to strengthen demand for its products,
which could be waning in the U.S., Europe and China, Spak told investors in
a research note Sunday.

"A Model Y announcement so shortly after the $35k [Model 3] suggests that
consumer reaction toward the $35k Model 3 may not have been as strong as the
company had hoped," Spak said. "We believe there has been a fall- off in U.
S. demand and softer than expected demand in Europe/China." The price cuts
on Tesla's three models, the X, S and 3, backs up the idea that demand has
softened, he added.

Model Y 要明年才开卖,到时 tax credit 完全没有,那就根本没戏。
这买其他牌子的车有 7.5K tax credit, 那优势太大了。

我觉得是为了上scale,毕竟最便宜也得五六万的车价不适合推广给所有人。有了
scale才有跟大厂长期竞争的本钱。否则永远是个niche厂。

今天的nytimes又有最新爆料

In the final three months of 2018, Tesla opened 27 sales and service
locations to keep up with rising demand for the Model 3. Over all, it had
more than 100 stores and showrooms nationwide and others overseas. In a Feb.
19 regulatory filing, Tesla said company-owned stores strengthened its
brand and helped reach potential customers in major markets.

Just nine days later, Mr. Musk said Tesla was going to close all but “a
small number” of its stores, which take orders, and galleries, which
increase exposure. He also said that the company would no longer offer test
drives, and that all sales had to be completed by computer or smartphone.

Production lines sputtered when Mr. Musk pushed to churn out a few thousand
cars a week — something established automakers do in a day.

Tesla sent customers $70,000 cars with dings, scratches and malfunctioning
screens.

Mr. Gordon, the University of Michigan professor, questioned whether Tesla
would be able to maintain growth without brick-and-mortar stores. “They are
not going to grow faster by being online only than by online plus stores,”
he said. “It’s a logical impossibility.”

Tesla has reduced prices on its other cars several times in the last two
months, including cuts of up to 30 percent on its priciest models last week,
suggesting sluggish sales.

尼玛一下子降价30%?

难怪特芬会出来抗议。
